Denise Sannicandro graduated from Orange County Community College's Nursing Program in Middletown New York, with a AAS in Nursing in 1974. She then attended the University of Phoenix San Diego Campus and obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, and subsequently obtained a dual Master's degree in Nursing and Business. Ms. Sannicandro attended the Kaplan College of Professional Studies School of Legal Nurse Consulting and obtained her LNC diploma, graduating with honors in 2002. Ms. Sannicandro has actively practiced nursing for over 30 years in the public and private sectors in various areas such as medical-surgical nursing, gynecology, pediatrics, dialysis, recovery room, intensive care, nursing homes (skilled facilities) home health care, utilization review, case management, managed care, quality assurance and improvement, project management, audits and compliance, and health care informatics. Ms. Sannicandro has been employed at the California Department of Health Services, Medicaid Branch and subsequently worked for several years at a large national Health Maintenance Organization, managing a Medicaid Managed Care contract, and associated State programs under 13 memorandums of agreement. Ms. Sannicandro now focuses her practice on regulatory compliance and audits, having been certified by the California Department of Health Services as a Master Trainer and Reviewer for certifying and re certifying provider medical offices in sole practice or group practices. She also contracts with community based organizations and health plans for special project assignments. As a Nurse Generalist, her specialties are diverse and include Home Health Nurse, Case Manager, Nurse Advocate, and Medicaid (MediCal) Operations Expert. She is registered with the California Board of Registered Nurses since 2005, as an Expert Witness. Ms. Sannicandro has assisted plaintiff attorneys in their cases, related to 3rd party liability, employment issues, medical malpractice, altered standards of care in nursing homes (long term care) and home health. Because of her extensive experience, she looks at cases with a critical eye and can save you time, money, and assist you in presenting your best case.
